DAY 1  

Depart home state – arrive late night

Meet Grand Classroom representatives at baggage claim,

Anchorage International Airport

Check into Clarion Inn, Anchorage

 DAY 2  

7 am:   Breakfast at hotel

9 am: Hike along the Coastal Trail to Earthquake Park

Noon: Depart for Alaska Native Heritage Center 

1 pm:  Lunch at Heritage Center 

1:30 pm – 4:30: Alaska Native Heritage Center

            Tours

            Art projects

            Native dance performances

            Native games  

Free time in Anchorage 

Dinner 

8:30 pm   Alaska Experience Theater or other nighttime activity 

Return to hotel

DAY 3   

8:00  Breakfast at hotel 

8:45   Bags on the bus 

9 am: Departure to Spencer Glacier Float Trip:

En route:

            Hike Falls Creek in Chugach State Park

            Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

12:30: Sack lunch

1:30 – 4:30 pm:  Spencer Glacier Float

 5 pm:  Leave for Moose Pass

 6:30 pm:  Check into Trail Lake Lodge

 7 pm: Dinner at Trail Lake Lodge

 Possible nighttime programs at the Lodge

 DAY 4 

7 am: Breakfast at Lodge

8 am: Depart for kayaking trip on Seward’s Resurrection Bay

 8:30:  4-hour sea kayak/hike to Tonsina Point

 1:00 pm: Bus arrives to take group to Kenai Fjords National Park

 1:30:  Arrive at Alaska SeaLife Center

 1 hour self tour of SeaLife Center

 1 hour class

 3:45:  Depart for Moose Pass

 7 pm:  Dinner at Trail Lake Lodge

 DAY 5  

8 am: Breakfast at Trail Lake Lodge

9 am departure to Cantwell

Hiking possibilities along the way to Denali

Noon: Picnic at Denali, Southern View

6 pm Pizza dinner

Overnight at the Denali Perch Resort

DAY 6  

7 am: Breakfast at hotel

8:30 am:  Depart for Denali National Park

9 am: Murie Science and Learning Center

            Classroom hands-on activities

            Tour sled dog kennels

11 am: Horseshoe Lake hike – 2 miles

12:30:  Picnic lunch

1:30 pm:  Park Visitor Center

                Interactive wildlife display

                Video presentation of Park

2:15 pm:   Bus to Savage Lake for a hike

5:30 pm: Back to hotel for a cook-out dinner

DAY 7 

7 am: Breakfast at hotel

8 am: Departure

11 am – 3 pm:  River float in Talkeetna on the “Big Su”

                         Box lunch on trip

3:15 pm:  Depart for Eagle River Nature Center

5 pm:  Arrive at Eagle River Nature Center 

6 pm:  Depart for Sourdough Mining Company for dinner

9 pm:   Shuttle to airport for late night flight back home
